When my brides (or, anyone else for that matter) asks me for styling advice + outfit looks for their weddings or events, I get really excited about this part because I absolutely love helping people look + feel their best. Being a stylist is one of my favorite things about my job. I love encouraging others to feel confident in their skin (why shouldn’t they?) If they are anything like me, I feel the most confident when I am feeling great on the inside and looking my best on the outside. It's all connected + I’m a firm believer of this.
To help me find their perfect look, I ask the following questions first.
Who are your style icons?
What is your budget?
What do you envision yourself in?
Once I take notes of what they want, I get started by searching for their perfect style look. I scour the internet and visit my go-to sites first. I love beginning my search with a mood board of my client's wishes. If I can source an item on the internet and find the exact style or a similar look for less, I get really excited about this part and consider it a big win. I mean, who else gets excited about finding a Rachel Zoe Wedding Dress on sale?! I’m a big fan of her wedding line + clothing, BTW.
A few things that I've learned from some of my client’s this year have inspired this particular blog post. Here are some notes about different things that my client's and I have chatted about.
Simple, chic + modern dresses are at the top of their bridal look wishes. They want a dress that they can recycle and wear again. Give these brides a dress that they can wear to a future event.
Tulle and lace are no's unless it's minimal.
Budget conscience all the way.
By keeping these notes in mind while I do some serious research, it helps me source different options for my client's based on their budget first. As always, I stick with my own philosophy while shopping for my brides.
"Don't try too hard + whatever you wear must be effortlessly chic."
At the end of the day, I always find looks that I would wear and am excited about. Below are some bridal looks that a lady can wear for her wedding + feel confident in. Each dress is tailored to the modern, stylish + budget conscience bride.
These dresses will look amazing paired with chic + simple high-heel sandals for my timeless brides or a pair of strappy mules for my more edgy + fashion-forward brides. Just remember that whichever route you take for your shoes, make sure that you can wear them again in the future.
I would love to hear which dress + shoe pairing is your favorite look. Click on each photo to shop each look. I hope you love them!
