There's something quaint and charming about La Valencia Hotel, that beautiful and refined resort that sits in all its regal splendor on Prospect Street, the central thoroughfare of the beautiful sea side town of La Jolla.
It's one of my favorite places to escape to in San Diego for a cup of cappuccino followed by a tasty beet salad at La Rue. Maybe it's the Spanish style roof, the old La Jolla charm, the rich mosaic tiles with different hues of deep blues accenting terracotta colored walls or the classic black and white striped awnings that don windows of the property; the hotel just amazes me every time I visit. After lunch with my son, I took some photos of the architecture to show you some of its' character.
La Valencia is absolutely stunning and makes for a beautiful setting for a wedding, a special event or a simple lunch date with a friend. And, it doesn't hurt that this beautiful hotel sits right at the epicenter of La Jolla where you and your guests can walk to the cove to see the seals or stroll leisurely through the Village for some great boutique shopping for the day. I love it.
