If you're anything like me, the transition from winter to spring is a very slow one. My favorite season is spring so when February comes around, I am literally counting down the days until it is officially spring on calendar. This seasonal transition was the theme of my styled shoot. As usual, I worked from a blank canvas with an ethereal, whimsical and editorial theme in mind.

I wanted to portray natural touches from winter and intertwine these elements with details that you would find in spring. I brought aspects of nature into an industrial warehouse that screams winter by hanging natural exposed branches on a blank wall of white brick. From there, I knew that I wanted to bring in something that would brighten up the space and have a focal point for the photo shoot. I decided to go with a wedding cake from Simply Sifted that was purple and metallic watercolors in design and two-tiered in height. As you may know, I am a huge fan of small details; I believe they make all the difference. With this in mind, I chose white elements such as white balloons and a bridal dress that, to me, symbolizes purity and joy for a winter bride. As a Creative Director of my photo shoots, I wanted the model to portray feelings of happiness, nervousness and joy to personify the emotions that a bride goes through on her wedding.

I invite you to scroll through the photos below that were captured so beautifully by Kelly Wood Clark Photography. I hope that you are able to feel the emotions that I hoped to portray through these photos. My favorite elements from this photo shoot were the movement and emotions that tell a story of a bride waiting anxiously and joyfully for her wedding to begin. Enjoy!
